Learning Support Assistant Required - Secondary Schools Across Liverpool
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to secondary-aged students.
- Support students with additional learning, behavioural, social, and emotional needs.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support student progress.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques when required.
- Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence within the classroom.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker, or in a similar role.
- Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour and/or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people.
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
Desirable
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Psychology, Youth Work, or related fields.
- Experience within secondary school settings.
- Training in Team Teach, MAPA, or other behaviour management interventions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
