Are you a graduate considering a career in teaching and looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school environment?
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a number of secondary schools across Liverpool seeking enthusiastic and motivated graduates to join their Future Teachers Programme. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers to develop their classroom skills, gain hands‑on experience, and explore a long‑term career in education before undertaking formal teacher training.
The programme is designed to provide graduates with practical experience in schools, helping them build confidence, develop classroom management skills, and gain a thorough understanding of day‑to‑day school life.
The Role
As part of the Future Teachers Programme, you will work within a secondary school supporting teaching and learning across a range of subjects. You will gradually develop your confidence within the classroom while working alongside experienced teachers and support staff.
Responsibilities may include:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons during teacher absences
- Supporting pupils in lessons to ensure they remain engaged and on task
- Assisting with small group and one-to-one interventions
- Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining classroom expectations
- Helping students prepare for assessments and examinations
- Supporting departments within your specialist subject area where possible
- Contributing to the wider school community and extracurricular activities
This role provides an excellent introduction to teaching and offers first‑hand experience of working in a busy secondary school setting.
