Teaching Personnel are currently seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in the Walsall and Birmingham areas. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience or progress within the education sector.
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a classroom in the absence of the regular teacher. You will deliver pre-set work, ensure students remain on task, and maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work set
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
- Support students where necessary while maintaining a professional classroom environment
- Follow all safeguarding and school procedures at all times
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people (in a school or similar setting preferred)
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
- Ability to adapt to different school environments and subjects
- A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
