Teaching Personnel are currently working with a warm and welcoming primary school seeking an experienced, hardworking and self-motivated Caretaker to join our happy, dedicated and friendly school community. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can use their own initiative, and is committed to maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our children, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Security of the school premises, including acting as a key holder
  • General cleaning duties
  • Maintenance work and minor repairs
  • Liaising with and supervising contractors
  • Understanding, maintaining and monitoring Health & Safety standards
  • Using IT systems for record keeping
  • Grounds maintenance tasks

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the school building and grounds are maintained to the highest standard. DIY, general maintenance, and basic computer skills are essential.

Working Hours

Term Time (Split Shifts): Monday–Thursday: 7:00am–10:00am and 1:45pm–6:00pm; Friday: 7:00am–10:00am and 2:00pm–6:00pm

School Holidays: 8:00am–3:45pm (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)

The role also includes cover for out-of-hours call-outs and securing the premises after school events.
