I'm currently recruiting for an exciting full-time SEND Pathways Support Mentor position within a specialist SEND school in the Hailsham area. Alongside this, I also recruit for a wide range of SEND and SEMH schools across East Sussex, offering opportunities for Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Intervention Staff and SEND Teachers.
This isn't your typical Teaching Assistant role. You'll join a dedicated Pathways provision, supporting pupils who are finding it difficult to access learning in the classroom. Your role will be to help them regulate, rebuild confidence and overcome barriers to learning before supporting their successful reintegration back into lessons. Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, you'll become a trusted adult who helps pupils rediscover confidence in education.
What We're Looking For
- Calm, resilient and emotionally consistent
- Positive role models for young people
- Strong relationship builders
- Patient, empathetic and professional
- Passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
- Experience within SEND or SEMH is beneficial, but it isn't essential. Many successful educators come from backgrounds including education, youth work, residential care, coaching, mentoring and support work.
