Your Role as a TPTUTOR and What Youâll Be Doing
As a tutor with us, youâll typically work 10â15 hours per week, though some roles may begin with as little as 1 hour per week, depending on student needs. We offer flexible scheduling to fit your availability, and tutoring can take place either:
- In person â at a studentâs home or in a public setting such as a local library or community centre.
- Online â through secure digital platforms, when that better suits the student or location.
You will work one-on-one with students to deliver focused, goal-driven support that helps them overcome challenges and achieve progress in their learning.
- Design and deliver personalised lesson plans tailored to each learnerâs specific academic goals and learning needs.
- Provide engaging, age-appropriate instructionâespecially in core subject areas such as English, Maths, and Science.
- Complete and submit detailed session notes via our secure online system, enabling accurate progress tracking, quality monitoring, and payroll processing.
- Adjust teaching approaches based on student feedback and progress, ensuring lessons are as effective and supportive as possible.
- Maintain open, clear communication with families, schools, and our TPTUTORS consultants to ensure alignment and early issue resolution.
What Weâre Looking For
We welcome a diverse range of educators, but are especially interested in candidates who bring the following:
- A degree in Education, SEN, or a related subject area.
- At least 2 yearsâ experience in teaching or tutoringâideally within the UK education system.
- A strong understanding of differentiated instruction and the ability to adapt lessons to suit varied learning styles.
- SEN experience is highly valued, but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.

To begin tutoring with TPTUTORS, youâll need to complete the following steps:
- Attend an initial Microsoft Teams meeting for introductions and onboarding.
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service â link provided; applicant covers cost.
- Provide a 10-year work history and 2 references from the past 5 years.
- Supply documents including:
- Proof of Right to Work in the UK
- Proof of current address
- Any name change documentation
- A professional headshot for your tutor profile
- Overseas police check, if applicable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
