Are you an experienced and dedicated secondary teacher passionate about helping young people succeed? TPTutors is seeking a committed Secondary Tutor to support Looked After Children (LAC) in Gateshead—both those currently out of education and those who may need extra help within school.

In this important role, you will deliver tailored tuition in GCSE English, GCSE Maths, and Functional Skills, helping learners regain confidence and make progress towards their qualifications while waiting for a new school placement or needing additional support in their current setting.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS essential)
  • Experience teaching GCSE English and/or Maths and Functional Skills
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by Looked After Children and learners outside mainstream education
  • Ability to deliver engaging, motivating lessons that build confidence and skills
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work in a variety of settings including home, school, or community
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, supportive approach
