Now Recruiting: Experienced Tutors – Wokingham Area Are you an experienced tutor or teacher with a passion for supporting vulnerable and disengaged young people? We are currently seeking compassionate and skilled tutors in the Wokingham area to provide 1:1 tuition for secondary-aged pupils referred by the Local Authority. These learners often face significant barriers to education, including extended time out of school and a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role offers the chance to make a real difference by helping pupils re-engage with learning in a supportive, structured, and consistent way. Role Details: Subjects in demand: Primarily English and Maths Location: Tuition takes place in the pupil’s home, online, or occasionally in a community setting such as a library Availability: Minimum of 10–15 hours per week Session Reports: Tutors are expected to maintain clear and timely documentation including: Session content and progress Learning objectives Attendance and engagement notes Essential Requirements: At least 2 years’ experience teaching or tutoring in the UK Experience supporting pupils with a range of SEN and additional needs Confident working independently with young people who may present with low self-esteem, anxiety, or challenging behaviours Able to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions that support academic and emotional development Knowledge of safeguarding and the ability to maintain professional boundaries at all times We’re Looking for Tutors Who Are: Patient, empathetic, and reliable Flexible in their approach to suit individual learning styles and needs Organised and professional in their communication and reporting If you’re based in or near Wokingham and want to use your experience to support young people who need it most, we’d love to hear from you.
