Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are currently recruiting a dedicated SEN Education Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Trowbridge (BA14) this September.
About the Role
As an SEN Education Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the class teacher with teaching assistant duties
- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Assisting with behaviour management strategies
- Delivering sensory support and interventions
- Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including communication and social development
- Providing personal care, where required
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A full UK driving licence (essential)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Experience working with children or young people in either a formal or informal setting, such as:
- Schools or education settings
- Support/care work
- Youth work
- Church or community groups
- After-school or holiday clubs
- Summer camps or similar environments
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing attitude
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
