Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) through outdoor learning, practical activities, and engaging experiences? Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Outdoor Teaching Assistants to support pupils in schools across Tiverton and the surrounding areas. Whether you already have experience working with SEND pupils or are looking to start a rewarding career in education, we'd love to hear from you.
Role:
- Pay Rate: £105‑£115 per day
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract: Full‑time, Term Time Only
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am‑4:30pm
As a SEND Outdoor Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEND during outdoor learning activities
- Encourage participation, confidence, and independence through hands‑on learning experiences
- Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs and abilities
- Support the delivery of EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans within practical and outdoor environments
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and communication skills
- Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCo, and wider support staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support
- Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive outdoor learning environment
We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (desirable but not essential)
- Transferable experience from sectors such as care, youth work, outdoor education, sports coaching, or family SEND support
- A patient, resilient, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
- An interest in outdoor learning and experiential education
