Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a confident and positive behaviour support worker to work with vulnerable young people ages 14-16 in Thrapston, NN14.

Full-time: Mon-Fri 8:30am-15:30pm

SEN based provision: supporting young people aged 11-16 (KS3 and KS4)

The role:

  • Assist teaching staff in planning and preparing learning activities
  • Working with other staff in developing and writing additional support plans for students
  • Working with individuals or small groups of students in activities to promote positive academic, social, emotional and behavioural outcomes
  • Providing access to the curriculum by supporting the re-integration of pupils into mainstream provision
  • Monitoring and recording the behaviour and achievements of pupils
  • The general management and support of pupils including supervision during morning breaks and lunchtimes as required
  • Using positive handling strategies, if appropriate, such as those utilised in Team Teach, to manage pupils effectively
  • Liaising with parents and external agencies regarding the progress of pupils in line with policy

Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • Have an overseas criminal clearance or willing to apply for one
  • Have a child enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one
  • Previous or relevant experience working with SEND children
  • Minimum of three months UK residency
  • Ideally Team Teach trained
