A PRU Primary School in Bournemouth is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant in a PRU setting, you must have a dedicated, resilient and patient approach to supporting young people. Within this school, students aged 4-11 years old will have various SEN diagnoses with behavioural difficulties, diagnoses may include:

  • ADHD / ADD
  • Autism Spectrum Conditions
  • Conduct Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties

The school has amazing facilities such as sensory rooms and calming spaces to help aid in the emotional regulation of the children and is dedicated to helping every pupil thrive in a safe, supportive and inspiring environment. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything they do, and everyone on site is expected to uphold this commitment. Who We Are Looking For

  • Must have a dedicated, resilient and patient approach to supporting young people
  • Must be Team Teach trained
  • SEMH/mental health experience in or out of an educational setting
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
  • Able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
