Are you passionate about supporting young people and enabling them to have the best start to adult life? If so, this role is for you! An SEN Specialist College is seeking multiple dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team!

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, your role is essential to the support and development of students being successful, independent, and achieving in a safe and caring learning environment. You will build a professional and trusted relationship with students aged 16-25 years old, with various additional needs such as:

  • Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
  • Additional complex needs related to ASC
  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Students who may not have attended education for several years and require therapeutic and structured re-engagement

The college offers a well-resourced, specialist environment designed to meet the needs of learners with Autism and SEMH challenges. Students benefit from a wide range of specialist facilities, including dedicated therapeutic spaces such as a sensory room, alongside highly individualised study programmes delivered by skilled teaching and support teams.

Key Duties

  • Support and facilitate the learning and independence of our students
  • Contribute to planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation of education programmes, plans and reports as required
  • Contribute to assessing, recording, and reporting on young peoples’ progress
  • Always promote and encourage independence
  • Keep records accurately and up to date
  • Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are always followed
  • Promote the development of positive social behaviours and self-regulation skills

Who We Are Looking For

  • Experience not necessary – on site training provided!
  • SEN related experience is a bonus, in or out of an educational setting, but not essential
  • Passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic about supporting young people

Working Hours / Benefits

  • Full Time – 40 hours per week
