About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Hull (HU19). This is a full-time temporary position, perfect for someone passionate about helping children with special educational needs (SEN) achieve their full potential.

You’ll work closely with teachers and the SENCo to provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping to create a positive, inclusive learning environment for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with a range of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language difficulties).

Provide one-to-one or small group interventions tailored to individual learning plans.

Assist the class teacher with differentiated lessons and classroom management.

Foster an inclusive, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment.

Help monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to the teacher and SENCo.

Support communication and social development.

Contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.

Person Specification

Essential:
Experience working with children with special educational needs.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A patient, caring, and proactive attitude.
Good literacy and numeracy (GCSE English & Maths or equivalent).
Commitment to inclusion and equality.

Desirable:
Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Training in specific SEN areas (e.g., Autism Awareness, Makaton, Team Teach).
Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
