Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Support Staff to work on a flexible supply basis across a variety of primary, secondary, SEN and SEMH schools throughout Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas. Whether you're looking for work around existing commitments, want to gain valuable classroom experience, or are considering a long-term career in education, these flexible roles offer an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in schools while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
You'll have the opportunity to work in a variety of educational settings, supporting pupils with different learning needs and helping schools provide a positive, engaging learning environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning interventions
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Support pupils with SEN, SEMH and additional learning needs
- Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Adapt quickly to different schools, classrooms and age groups
We're Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in:
- Teaching Assistant or Learning Support roles
- Behaviour Mentoring
- SEN or SEMH Support
- Youth Work
- Residential or Care Work
- Sports Coaching
- Tutoring
- Customer Service or other roles involving strong communication and people skills
You should also have:
- A positive, proactive and adaptable approach
- Confidence working with children and young people
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A calm and patient approach to behaviour management
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
