Teaching Assistant required for an outstanding special school located in Yeovil, Somerset. We cater to students with a range of complex learning difficulties, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. Our dedicated staff team works collaboratively to create a supportive, engaging, and inspiring learning experience for our students.

The Role

  • Support students in their learning and development, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and activities that meet individual needs.
  • Work closely with other professionals, including therapists and support staff, to implement strategies that promote student progress.
  • Provide personal care and support where necessary.
  • Encourage communication, independence, and confidence in students.
  • Support students on a 1:1 basis where required.

What We’re Looking For

  • We welcome applicants with experience in SEN settings or those looking to begin a rewarding career in special education.
  • Ideal candidates will have a compassionate and patient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting. Those with EYFS/Nursery experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of our students.
  • A playful and energetic personality.
