Teaching Personnel is recruiting caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a range of supportive schools across Taunton and the surrounding areas. Role: SEND Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £90–£100 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, adapting learning to individual needs
- Assist in delivering EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans
- Promote inclusion, independence, and positive social interaction
- Support emotional wellbeing, communication, and behaviour regulation
- Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and wider support staff
We’re Looking For:
- Previous SEND experience (desirable but not essential)
- Transferable experience (e.g. care work, youth work, psychology, family SEND experience)
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine desire to learn and develop within education
