About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning within a friendly and supportive primary school in West Cheshire. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children reach their full potential in a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment. The position begins immediately and will continue through to the end of the current academic year.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and high-quality lessons.
- Provide individual or small-group support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs.
- Assist with the planning and preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
- Help maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment.
- Promote good behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development among pupils.
- Support pupils during transitions, such as entering or leaving the classroom, assemblies, or break times.
- Contribute to the assessment and tracking of pupil progress where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and other support professionals.
- Supervise pupils during lunchtime or outdoor activities as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all safeguarding procedures in line with school and local authority guidelines.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (primary school experience preferred).
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate) is desirable but not essential.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when needed.
- A positive, patient, and flexible attitude.
- An enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
