Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a range of welcoming primary schools across Garstang and the surrounding areas, offering exciting opportunities for graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, social work, or other child-centred careers.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across EYFS and Primary settings, helping to create engaging and inclusive learning environments. Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting teachers with daily classroom activities
• Delivering small group interventions and one-to-one support
• Assisting pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development
• Helping to create a positive learning environment
• Supporting children with additional learning needs where required
• Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

We welcome applications from graduates from a variety of degree backgrounds, particularly those with an interest in working with children, including:

• Education Studies
• Psychology
• Childhood Studies
• Early Childhood Development
• Sociology
• Sports Coaching or Sports Science
• Health and Social Care
• English, Maths, Science or Humanities
• Creative Arts, Music or Drama

You may have gained experience through:

• Volunteering with children or young people
• Sports coaching
• Youth work
• Tutoring or mentoring
• Holiday clubs or summer camps
• Nursery or childcare settings

• Passionate about supporting children's learning and development
• Considering a future career in teaching or education
• Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Positive, enthusiastic, and proactive approach
• Able to build rapport with children of different ages and abilities
• Willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check (or have one on the Update Service)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
