Job Summary

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a Supply Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist primary setting designed for learners with additional learning needs (ALN). You will be working in a well-established specialist provision supporting pupils with a range of needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Speech, language, and communication needs
  • Social, emotional, and behavioural challenges

This is a nurturing setting where patience, consistency, and care are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a flexible basis with opportunities for regular, ongoing placements.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupil needs.
  • Assist with learning activities, behaviour support, and emotional regulation.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification (desirable).
  • Health and Social Care Qualification (essential).

Experience

  • Experience working with children or young people (essential).
  • Experience supporting individuals with ALN, ASC, or SEMH needs (highly desirable).
  • Backgrounds in care, support work, early years, or youth work are welcomed.

Other Requirements

  • Driving licence & access to a vehicle (advantageous, not essential).
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
