The Role
As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils throughout the school day. The role involves a mix of:
- 1:1 support for pupils requiring targeted behavioural intervention
- General Teaching Assistant support within small class groups
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour
- Helping to create a safe, calm, and supportive learning environment
- Implementing behaviour support strategies consistently and professionally
You will work withmixed age groups, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
Training & Support
- Full behaviour management training provided
- Safeguarding training provided
- Ongoing support from Teaching Personnel and on-site education staff
Desired Experience
We welcome applicants with experience in any of the following areas:
- Behaviour support, mentoring, or youth work
- SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs
- Secure units, pupil referral units (PRUs), alternative provision, or specialist education settings
- Education, care, mental health, or criminal justice environments
- Teaching Assistant or classroom support roles
A calm, resilient, and consistent approach is essential. Experience managing challenging behaviour is highly desirable, though full training will be given.
