Teaching Personnel is working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Swansea seeking a confident, energetic and resilient Behaviour & Sports Mentor to support pupils in Years 4 and 5. The Role

This is a highly rewarding position supporting pupils who can present behaviour and may struggle to regulate their emotions in a classroom environment. You will work closely with individual pupils, helping them manage their emotions, build resilience and re-engage with learning through positive activities, particularly sport and physical exercise.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Using sport, movement and physical activity to support emotional regulation
  • Delivering positive interventions outside the classroom when required
  • Acting as a positive role model and mentor
  • Building strong relationships based on trust and consistency
  • Encouraging engagement in learning and classroom activities
  • Supporting pupils to develop confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent support
