Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Cranleigh, Surrey Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:15pm Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Are you an experienced Support Worker looking for a rewarding role in education? We are seeking caring, resilient, and enthusiastic individuals to join a specialist SEN school in Cranleigh as a full-time Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in care, support work, residential services, healthcare, or similar environments who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs. You will support pupils with complex learning difficulties, autism, physical disabilities, and communication needs, helping them access education, develop independence, and achieve their personal goals. Key Responsibilities Support pupils throughout the school day in both classroom and therapeutic settings. Assist with learning activities tailored to individual needs. Build positive relationships and provide emotional and behavioural support. Encourage independence, confidence, and social development. Support students during breaks, lunchtime, and off-site activities. Provide personal care where required, including toileting, changing, feeding, and mobility support. What We're Looking For Previous experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Residential Support Worker, or similar. A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach. Confidence working with individuals with additional needs and challenging behaviours. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Reliability and commitment to a full-time role. Essential Requirements Full right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Ability to travel reliably to Cranleigh for the working hours of 8:30am – 4:15pm.
