Role Overview

SEN Secondary Teacher (Autism Focus) – Full Time, available to start ASAP.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a class of 10‑13 students across Years 7‑11.
  • Support students with a range of Special Educational Needs, primarily autism, in a structured and nurturing environment.
  • Deliver engaging lessons in PSHE, Outdoor Learning, and Home Cooking.
  • Work closely with a team of LSAs and CSWs who provide in‑class support.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Students are typically working 3‑5 years below age‑related expectations.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in a secondary setting.
  • Strong background supporting students with SEN, particularly autism.
  • Ideally experience delivering PSHE, outdoor learning, and/or practical subjects such as cooking.
  • Ability to differentiate effectively and manage diverse needs within the classroom.

Details

  • Full‑time, Monday to Friday.
  • Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm.
  • Start date: ASAP.
  • This is a temporary position; a permanent contract may become available later.
  • All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
