We are currently looking for a Support Assistant to join a secondary school s dedicated Nurture Unit, providing one-to-one and small-group support to students who may benefit from additional academic, emotional and behavioural support. The Role: As a Support Assistant, you will work closely with the Nurture Unit team to create a calm, supportive and positive environment where students feel safe and able to engage with their education. Your responsibilities will include: Providing one-to-one and small-group support to students within the Nurture Unit. Supporting students with their learning, confidence and engagement. Helping students to manage emotions, behaviour and challenging situations. Building positive and trusting relationships with students. Supporting students to develop their social skills, independence and resilience. Assisting with classroom activities and learning tasks. Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support individual student needs. Helping students to successfully reintegrate into mainstream lessons where appropriate. Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, structured environment. The successful candidate will be patient, approachable and resilient, with a genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
