We are currently working with a number of Secondary and through Schools in the Merthyr Tydfil area who will be requiring Ad-Hoc Teaching Assistants who can confidently cover positions when their long-term and permanent staff are absent. You will have the ability to manage your own diary and make yourself available on days/hours that YOU want to work.

Supply Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS certificate available on the update service
  • Registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
  • Have a passion for education
  • Patient and caring nature
  • Able to provide 2 relevant references
  • Access to own transport or good public transport links

Teaching Personnel can assist you with your DBS & EWC applications.

Supply Teaching Assistant Overview:

  • Supporting a student across KS1-KS4 with additional learning needs or behaviour
  • Work as part of a team of support staff
  • Reading out work and breaking down tasks set by subject teachers
  • Management of any challenging behaviours
  • Keeping student task-focused

Working as a Supply Teaching Assistant means you have the ability to pick and choose when you are available. Your role is to go in and cover the position of another member of staff who is absent for any reason. Therefore, it is vital that the successful applicant is adaptable, a fast learner and confident. Typically, schools will inform us early in the morning of any absences and if you have selected the day as available we will call you and let you know where you are needed for the day.
