Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Humanities Teacher for a long-term supply position at a secondary school in Sunderland from September 2026. Applications are welcome from teachers whose specialism sits within History, Geography, RE, or a combination - with the ability to contribute across the broader Humanities curriculum being an advantage.

The department is looking for someone who can slot in confidently, deliver well-structured lessons across KS3 and KS4, and work collaboratively within an established team from day one.

What you'll be doing:

  • Planning and delivering Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Contributing across History, Geography, and RE depending on your specialism
  • Assessing student progress and providing meaningful feedback
  • Maintaining high standards of classroom management and student engagement
  • Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school events
  • Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities

To be considered:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • A degree in a Humanities discipline
  • Experience teaching at secondary level within your subject specialism
  • Ability to contribute across wider Humanities subjects is advantageous
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
