Student Wellbeing Mentors to work within specialist schools and alternative provisions across

Chorley and Skelmersdale .

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils who may face social, emotional, mental health, or behavioural challenges.

You will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, and engagement with their education.

The Role

As a Student Wellbeing Mentor, you will

• Provide emotional and pastoral support to students throughout the school day.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and self-esteem.
• Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Support students in managing emotions, behaviour, and social interactions.
• Encourage engagement with learning and participation in school life.
• Act as a positive role model, promoting resilience and personal growth.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals.
• Help create a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment.
• The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who

• Have experience working with young people or vulnerable individuals.
• Are patient, compassionate, and resilient.
• Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Are passionate about supporting emotional wellbeing and positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Can remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Have experience in education, youth work, support work, care, mental health services, sports coaching, or similar fields (desirable).

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Two professional references covering the past two years.
• Successful completion of all safeguarding and compliance checks.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
