Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Teaching Personnel are recruiting Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEMH school in Stoke-on-Trent.
This role is ideal for individuals with:
- Experience supporting pupils with behavioural or mental health needs
- A background in SEN, education, youth work, care work, or psychology
- Transferable skills from other professions where you’ve supported or mentored young people
Your Role:
- Support pupils with SEMH needs 1:1 or in small groups
- Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement in learning
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons and supporting individualised learning plans
- Help develop pupils’ confidence, emotional wellbeing, and social skills
- Contribute to creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
Who We’re Looking For:
- Experience in behaviour management, mental health support, SEN, or psychology
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable
- Confident in handling challenging situations and supporting pupils’ emotional needs
- DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
