We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Outreach SEN provision, supporting children who are not currently able to access mainstream education. This is a rewarding and varied role where no two days are the same, working with pupils in alternative settings and providing tailored interventions to help re-engage them with learning.
Overview
- Supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs, including SEMH, ASD, and behavioural needs.
- Delivering and supporting targeted interventions on a 1:1 or small-group basis.
- Helping pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation, and engagement with education.
- Working in a variety of outreach locations rather than one fixed classroom.
- Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils who may have struggled in mainstream settings.
Responsibilities
- Support children with a range of special educational needs (SEMH, ASD, behavioural needs).
- Deliver and support targeted interventions on a 1:1 or small-group basis.
- Help pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation, and engagement with education.
- Work in a variety of outreach locations rather than one fixed classroom.
- Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils who may have struggled in mainstream settings.
Key Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people (essential).
- SEN or outreach experience highly desirable.
- Must be able to drive.
- Business-use car insurance required (or willingness to obtain it).
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- Confident working independently and adapting to changing environments.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:50pm.
