Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to support a pupil joining a specialist educational setting in Stoke-on-Trent from September. This role involves providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day to help the pupil access learning, develop independence, and engage positively with school life. Please note: The successful candidate must be comfortable carrying out full personal care duties.
Responsibilities- Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day to enable access to learning and participation in activities.
- Support the pupil to develop independence and engage positively with school life.
- Assist with personalised learning strategies and behaviour management as directed by teaching staff.
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
- Comfortable providing personal care support.
- Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience within education, care, support work, healthcare, or residential settings is desirable.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two professional references covering the last two years.
- Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.
