Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Pay: £100-£120 per day (dependent on experience)

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to support a pupil joining a specialist educational setting in Stoke-on-Trent from September. This role involves providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day to help the pupil access learning, develop independence, and engage positively with school life. Please note: The successful candidate must be comfortable carrying out full personal care duties.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day to enable access to learning and participation in activities.
  • Support the pupil to develop independence and engage positively with school life.
  • Assist with personalised learning strategies and behaviour management as directed by teaching staff.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
  • Comfortable providing personal care support.
  • Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience within education, care, support work, healthcare, or residential settings is desirable.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Two professional references covering the last two years.
