We are working with a welcoming and supportive school in the ST18 area of Stafford that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
  • Support children with SEND, autism, communication difficulties, behavioural needs and additional learning needs.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, independence and engagement.
  • Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom to help them access the curriculum.
  • Assist teachers with delivering engaging lessons and adapting activities to meet individual learning needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop their social, emotional and communication skills.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEND staff, therapists and parents to support individual education and development plans.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Encourage pupils to become more independent and develop essential life and learning skills.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Has experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN/SEND, autism or additional needs.
  • Is patient, calm, compassionate and resilient.
  • Can build strong and positive relationships with children.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Is passionate about helping children overcome barriers and achieve their potential.
  • Can remain positive and professional when managing challenging situations.
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
