Sporty Teaching Assistant Location: Bradford Contract: Full-time, Long-term, part time and daily work available Start Date: Immediate Are you the kind of person who can turn a PE lesson into the highlight of the week? We re looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Sporty Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant specialist SEND setting in Bradford. The school prides itself on creating opportunities for every student to shine in the classroom, on the field, and beyond.

This role is perfect for someone who believes in the power of sport to build confidence, teamwork, and resilience. You ll support pupils in PE and across lessons, helping them stay engaged, motivated, and ready to give their best whether they re running laps or revising for exams. What you ll be doing: Supporting pupils across PE lessons, sports sessions, and classroom learning Helping to plan and deliver engaging physical activities that build skills and confidence Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils who benefit from movement and structure Encouraging teamwork, inclusion, and positive participation during lessons and extracurricular activities Assisting with equipment setup, behaviour support, and general classroom help What we re looking for: A background or keen interest in sport, fitness, or coaching Experience supporting children or young people in education, youth work, or sports environments A proactive, upbeat attitude and the ability to motivate pupils Strong communication skills and the confidence to work closely with teachers and pastoral staff A patient, encouraging approach that brings out the best in every student Bonus points if you re Thrive-trained if not, we ll provide it free through our exclusive training to help you support wellbeing and emotional development in young people.
