Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to start in September for a welcoming, values-driven secondary academy with a strong sporting identity and a real commitment to student wellbeing and achievement. The Role
- Support the delivery of engaging lessons across a range of subjects and key stages
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to support student progress
- Assist in maintaining a positive, inclusive, and focused learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers to support students with varying needs
- Help motivate and inspire pupils to reach their potential
- Support behaviour management and contribute to a respectful, productive classroom atmosphere
- Assist with wider school activities and enrichment opportunities where they arise
Who We’re Looking For
- A Sports, PE, Sport Science, or related degree (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- A genuine passion for working with young people
- Confidence, enthusiasm, and a proactive, can-do attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to maintain high expectations for behaviour and engagement
- No formal qualifications required – a willingness to learn and grow is what matters most
- Previous school, childcare, youth work, or community-based experience is desirable but not essential
- An understanding of SEND (such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH) is advantageous
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply, along with satisfactory background screening
