We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and resilient Sports Coaches and Behaviour Specialists to work within a range of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) schools across Chorley and Skelmersdale. These roles are ideal for individuals with a background in sports coaching, mentoring, youth work, behaviour support, or alternative provision who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes. Whether you are seeking a full-time position or flexible day-to-day work, we have opportunities available to suit your availability.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Use sports and physical activities as a tool to engage and motivate students.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage attendance, participation and achievement.
  • Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
  • Support students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and self-confidence.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in schools, sports settings, youth clubs, coaching environments or care settings.
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations.
  • Sports coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).
