Are you a passionate Sports Coach looking to bring your skills into a school setting? An exciting opportunity is available across secondary schools in Monmouthshire, where your coaching experience can be used to support and inspire young people both in and outside the classroom.

Location: Monmouthshire

Hours: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (8:30 AM – 3:00 PM)

Contract: September 2025 – July 2026

About the Role:

We are recruiting enthusiastic and active individuals to work as Teaching Assistants with a sports coaching background. This is an ideal role for someone who is passionate about physical activity and youth development, and who wants to make a positive impact on students who may need additional support in their education journey.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students aged 11–16 with behavioural, emotional, or additional learning needs.
  • Assisting with the delivery of lessons, particularly PE, health, and well-being.
  • Leading or supporting lunchtime and after-school sports clubs and physical activities.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Acting as a mentor and role model for students who benefit from structure, activity, and consistency.

About the Schools:

We work with a number of inclusive secondary schools across Monmouthshire, many of which have dedicated departments or resource bases supporting students with ALN (Additional Learning Needs) and behavioural challenges. These schools value the positive impact of physical activity and see sports coaches as a vital part of pupil support. Many coaches have gone on to long-term roles or careers in education thanks to the training and investment provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
