We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school team in Blackburn from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting children in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage One with their communication and language development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) in both one-to-one and small group settings
  • Work closely with the class teacher and Speech and Language Therapist to deliver targeted interventions
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of tailored learning activities
  • Help create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with young children, ideally within EYFS or Key Stage One
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of speech, language, and communication development
  • Be patient, nurturing, and adaptable to individual pupil needs
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Be committed to supporting children’s learning and development
