SEN Teaching Assistant – Part Time

Location: Lancaster
Start Date: Feburary 2026
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour

Teaching Personnel is working with welcoming, Ofsted-rated “GOOD” primary schools in Lancaster seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams. These roles involve supporting pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties, through tailored learning and 1:1 support.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and IEPs.
  • Use PECS and other communication strategies for children with speech and language challenges.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create an inclusive, nurturing environment.
  • Support classroom management and behaviour strategies when required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, and other SEN.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and IEPs (preferred).
  • Ability to adapt teaching styles for diverse needs.
  • Based locally in Lancaster or able to commute.
  • A proactive, compassionate, and dedicated approach.
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
