A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a SEN Teacher in a well-respected SEN school in Brecon that supports pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including ASD, SEMH and complex needs. The school is calm, structured and incredibly supportive. The kind of setting where staff are valued and pupils are known individually across the school.
We’re now looking for a committed SEN Teacher who understands that progress comes in many forms and who can bring patience, consistency and high expectations into the classroom.
The Role
You’ll be teaching small classes of 6-10 pupils alongside 3-4 teaching support staff, working closely with teaching assistants, therapists and pastoral teams to deliver tailored learning that meets each pupil where they are.
This role would suit:
- An experienced SEN Teacher
- A mainstream teacher ready to move into SEN
- An NQT with strong SEN placement experience and the right attitude
What the School Is Looking For
- A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent)
- Confidence working with pupils with additional learning needs
- Strong behaviour management rooted in empathy and structure
- A calm, resilient approach and the ability to build trust
- Team Teach trained, Manual handling training, Trauma informed training are all preferred but not essential
