Location: Sherborne, Dorset
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are recruiting dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Sherborne from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who require alternative provision due to:
- Permanent exclusion or being at risk of permanent exclusion
- Short-stay placements
- Medical needs
- SEND assessments and additional learning needs
The setting provides a nurturing, supportive environment where every student is given the opportunity to re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a PRU, SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision setting
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with young people who may have experienced barriers to learning
- A genuine passion for helping students reach their full potential
