Are you a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a supportive secondary school? We’re working with a fantastic mainstream secondary school with a dedicated SEND base, and they are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and resilient TA to join their team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys helping young people overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

  • As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have additional needs, providing tailored support both within the classroom and through the school’s SEND provision.
  • You could be supporting students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, communication and interaction needs, SEMH and learning difficulties.
  • Supporting students in lessons and helping them access the curriculum.
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
  • Working alongside teachers and the SEND team.
  • Helping students develop confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Supporting students within the school’s dedicated SEND base.
  • Providing encouragement, patience and consistency throughout the school day.

We’re Looking For

  • The ideal candidate will be:
  • Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Patient, empathetic and resilient.
  • Confident working with secondary-aged students.
  • Able to build positive relationships with students.
  • Reliable, proactive and enthusiastic.
  • Experienced in an SEN/SEND setting or keen to develop their experience in this area.
  • Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN TA, SEND TA, Support Worker or similar experience is welcomed.
