Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive nursery in the B29 area of Birmingham to recruit an experienced and passionate SENDCo. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who is committed to supporting children with additional needs and ensuring every child receives the best possible start to their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the nursery.
  • Identify and assess children's additional needs at an early stage.
  • Develop, implement, and review individual support plans and targets.
  • Work collaboratively with nursery staff, parents, carers, and external agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
  • Support staff with strategies, interventions, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Maintain accurate SEND records and documentation.
  • Promote an inclusive environment where all children can thrive.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working as a SENDCo or within a SEND leadership role.
  • A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience supporting children with a range of additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Relevant childcare, education, or SEND qualifications.
