Contract: Full-time | Term-Time Only

Pay: £93–£115 per day (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? Do you have experience working with young people and want to make a real impact in secondary education? We are working with a number of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools in Gorton and the surrounding areas who are looking to recruit dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with a range of additional needs, helping them access education, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including:
    • Autism (ASC)
    • ADHD
    • Speech, Language & Communication Needs
    • Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
    • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons
  • Promoting independence and positive learning behaviours
  • Supporting teachers with classroom activities and differentiated learning
  • Implementing behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques where required
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people is essential, including:
    • SEN support
    • Teaching Assistant experience
    • Youth work
    • Residential or support work
    • Behaviour mentoring
    • Sports coaching
    • Care work
    • Children's residential settings
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong behaviour management and the ability to build positive relationships
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
