SEN Teaching Assistant to support one of our specialist SEMH education partners in the Kidderminster (DY11) area. This role involves supporting pupils who have experienced barriers to learning, often due to SEMH needs, Autism (ASD) and ADHD. You will work within a small, nurturing setting that prioritises emotional wellbeing, consistency and relationship‑based practice.

Working closely with teachers, behaviour leads and the SENCO, you’ll help pupils re‑engage with learning, develop self‑regulation strategies and build the confidence needed to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised one‑to‑one and small‑group support
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs and learning styles
  • Follow EHCPs, behaviour plans and therapeutic approaches
  • Support emotional regulation using de‑escalation strategies and predictable routines
  • Promote positive communication, social interaction and resilience
  • Use visual supports, sensory tools and structured interventions
  • Track and record pupil progress, sharing observations with staff
  • Contribute to a calm, safe and consistent learning environment
  • Support pupils during transitions, break times and community‑based activities
  • Encourage independence, self‑esteem and positive decision‑making

Requirements

  • Willing to complete a DBS check or provide an updated certificate
  • Able to provide two references
