We are seeking a compassionate, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Harrow. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact supporting students with special educational needs, helping them to reach their full potential both academically and socially.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide targeted support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and social, emotional or behavioural challenges. Your role will involve adapting learning activities, promoting independence and building positive, trusting relationships with students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and differentiated learning strategies.
  • Encourage engagement, confidence and participation within the classroom.
  • Support students’ social and emotional development, promoting a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents and external professionals to ensure progress and well-being.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or childcare setting.
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience and excellent communication skills.
  • Be proactive, flexible and able to adapt to different learning needs.
  • Hold relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
  • Show a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
