Primary SEND Teaching Assistant – Wakefield

Are you a caring and committed individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join inclusive and nurturing primary schools across Wakefield.

The Role:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN)
Support children with communication, sensory, emotional, and behavioural needs
Assist with the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
Help create a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech & language needs) is highly desirable
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (desirable but not essential)
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
