Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) or Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel are working with a specialist SEMH school in Bolton looking for a committed and caring Teaching Assistant to join their team.

About the Role:

As a SEMH / SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting individual pupils or small groups with learning activities
  • Assisting in managing challenging behaviours with empathy and consistency
  • Helping to implement personalised education and behaviour plans
  • Building positive relationships with pupils to support their social and emotional development
  • Collaborating with the teaching team to adapt resources and activities

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH or SEN is essential
  • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay calm and consistent in a challenging environment
  • Commitment to supporting inclusive education and personalised learning
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support is advantageous but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
