We are currently seeking a qualified SEN Teacher with QTS to join a supportive and well-resourced school in Harrow. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to making a real difference to pupils with additional needs.
The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high quality, personalised learning for pupils with a range of special educational needs. These may include Autism ASC, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs, MLD and complex needs. You will work closely with support staff, therapists, SENCOs and parents to ensure every pupil reaches their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP targets
- Create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment
- Use a range of strategies to support behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement
- Assess, track and report pupil progress effectively
- Work collaboratively with TAs, SEN professionals and the wider school team
- Promote inclusion, independence and positive outcomes for all learners
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) ESSENTIAL
- Proven experience working with pupils with SEN (mainstream or specialist setting)
- Strong behaviour management and adaptive teaching skills
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for SEN education
