Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Assistants to work full-time in SEN and SEMH schools across Bolton. This role involves supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs and social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them to engage with learning and develop positive behaviours.

Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in learning
- Assist teachers with delivering tailored learning activities and interventions
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote confidence and wellbeing
- Support pupils with personal care where required
- Implement behaviour support strategies and follow individual education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Accurately record observations and progress where required
Qualifications
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
- Learning Difficulties
- Trauma and attachment needs
- Challenging behaviour
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH (school, care, youth work, or similar settings)
- Ability to work full-time only (Monday-Friday)
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to support behaviour management and emotional needs
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- Previous experience in SEN or SEMH schools
- Team Teach or behaviour management training
