SEN Learning Support Assistant Location: St Helens Contract Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive, based on experience Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team in St Helens. About the Role: As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will provide tailored support to students, both in the classroom and during extracurricular activities. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Management Plans. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Support students with personal care needs if required. Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students. Encourage student independence and self-confidence. Ideal Candidate: We are looking for individuals who have: A background in Psychology, care work, or previous experience working with SEN pupils in a school setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature. The ability to work effectively as part of a team. A proactive approach to supporting students' needs. Requirements: An enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply for one. Relevant experience or qualifications in a related field would be advantageous.
